Die Cuttin Diva's - Father's Day or Masculine Theme

Happy Tuesday! 
It's time for another Die Cuttin Diva's Challenge! This week we're celebrating the men or boys :) If you have a Father's Day project or masculine project come share with us!
Wow, I'm so sorry I did not post this on my blog Tuesday but I was having so many problems with blogger. I guess the memory on my computer was too low :( so I just couldn't post. I had someone help me out but it may just be a quick fix so fingers crossed.
Here is a masculine card I created for my Uncle and it was made completely from scraps :) I just love to use up my scraps and get a nice result.

I started with about a 4.5 x 5.75 piece of card stock to use as my base. I cut 1 inch strips of various card stock in coordinating colors. Then I adhered them in a brick type pattern (I know that's not the official term) Then I used a rectangle die cut to cut a 4 x 5.25 mat.

Lastly, I cut a strip of kraft and stamped it with Happy Birthday and it was complete.

Are you guys all ready for school to come to an end? I know a lot of you are already out but we have 4 more days :) The end of the year spells SUMMER to me and Father's day! I love to spoil my Dad and my hubby! So here is just one fun treat  my boys can give daddy for his sweet tooth :)

I made a little tote holder. Before I adhered it at the top, I stamped it with a sentiment from the CDD Happy Celebrations set. 

I cut some vellum and sewed it to the tote. I attached a rounded rectangle die from the CDD Tag Essentials set and added some kraft letter stickers that I covered with glossy accents. 

And lastly, popped in some of Daddy's favorite candy and glued the top!

Die Cuttin Diva's - Sea or Aquarium Challenge

Happy Tuesday! 
It's time for another Die Cuttin Diva's Challenge! Did you know it's National Aquarium month? Cool huh? In honor of our sea pals create something that you might find in the sea or in an aquarium. Don't forget your die cut :)
I tried something completely out of my comfort zone.

I just had a blast with this card. I saw a great tag so long ago on the Tim Hotlz web site and fell in love with it! I could never come up with anything close so I just used it as a guide. Let me give you the details. I started with a watercolor background in 3 colors. Aqua, lime & blue. I let it dry and added some stickles. The starfish are cut from the cricut cartridge Life's a beach. Okay here is where the fun starts. I used some orange ink and inked them all up. Next I got out some Tim Holtz metallic gold paint and splattered away. I used glitter and gold on the fins and then glossy accents for for details.   

Lastly, I added some coral and a starfish on top of some clear acetate which I printed "Sea you soon" It's so much fun to try new things.... but I'll leave these techniques for the professionals :)

Die Cuttin Diva's - Sketch Challenge

It's time for another Die Cuttin Diva's Challenge! This week we have a sketch for you. Sometimes it's so nice to follow a sketch, sure takes the guess work out of the creative process :) 
I decided I needed to have another masculine birthday card on hand. so here's what I came up with.

I guess the colors kind of look like fall, not sure if I love that... but it just sort of happened :)

As you can tell I flipped the sketch and I think the silver glittery banner tag is my favorite detail.

Hope you all had a GREAT weekend! They go by so fast!! Today I'm sharing a fun card that reminds me of summer for sure!

I made a background using a cloud from the newest release set The-Sky-Is-The-Limit. I heat embossed the cloud in white and then water colored around the clouds. I cut the cute stand from MKC.

I finished the card with a sentiment from Summer Lovin.

Die Cuttin Diva's - Baby Chalenge

Happy Tuesday! 
It's time for another Die Cuttin Diva's Challenge! This week we're all about babies! So, is it me or are you seeing a lot of expecting mommies too? Every where I go, I see sweet baby bumps! I have to say that I just love seeing that bump :)

I found a very sweet file by Kadoodle called sweet dreams  and just thought it would be perfect for our challenge.

I cut the file rather large so I could use a peachy face. I love that great big moon :)

I used a distressed blue background and a CDD start die  I added a ton of wink of stella and little doodling.
