Happy Tuesday!!

It's time for another Die Cuttin Divas Challenge. Today's challenge is a sketch challenge. I think you know by now I LOVE a good sketch! It's such a great inspiration starter.  Most of the time I really change it up but this is a really great sketch so I only flipped it :) I didn't realize I forgot one element of the sketch and I was already on vacation by the time I noticed it so please forgive me :)

I decided to make a card with a nautical theme but I guess it looks like it could be a baby card too :)

The boat is cut from Cricut Just Because cards
The circles are die cuts from Lawn Fawn
The label is by Lil Inker Designs
Machine stitched

Getting to Know Me Blog Hop

Happy Monday to you!

I have a little something different for you today.  Recently I was asked to participate in a different type of blog hop, one in which we share a little bit about our work and creative process as we get to know each other better.

I am beyond honored that Karen over at kaleidoscopic Sparkles asked me to participate. I'm sure most of you already know this sweet sunshine of a person, but just in case you don't or haven't seen her jaw dropping creations, you must stop by and check them out, she is possibly the kindest blogger and definitely one of the most talented. Karen an I began our journey into the crafting world around the same time and it's been a true honor to follow her along her journey of creativity! Thank you my sweet and kind friend for this invitation!

I started blogging right after I received a Cricut as a gift from my mom. I began searching the internet, really trying to learn how to use my new toy and quickly found a whole new world. I started a blog so that I could share my passion, meet some people that share the same interest and have some fun! Boy, I never imagined what this little hobby of mine would do for me.

Truly I have been a crafter all my life, my Mom has always been creative. We were the best dressed little girls in preschool, coordinated from hair bows to Backpacks and lunch bags. All sewn and made by her. We always had a craft to do and books to color.  I fell in love with pen & paper at age 5, then stickers.... Soon I began collecting stationary, and when scrapbook paper came out my favorite thing to do was coordinate card stock and pattern paper. I just bought them and never used them :) I just LOVED having them! I wasn't a scrapbooker so I guess I felt like what would I use them for? Until I started making invitations and thank you cards in 1990. My mom and I would make them for so many occasions. I honestly never imagined I would start a blog and share my work but with some convincing I did, and I'm so VERY glad I did it!

What am I working on right now?

I am always working on something :) At the moment it's Design Team projects. I am currently on Craftin Desert Divas Design TeamTrendy Twine Design Team & Die Cuttin Divas. I really couldn't ask for better teams, the gals that I work with inspire me and are so encouraging. I'm really lucky to participate on the teams and use their fantastic products!
Here are a few of my favorite DT projects.

Why do I create what I do?
Like many of you I live a very busy, fast moving, full life. Crafting is my time to unwind, relax and enjoy something for "Me" I love doing it and I love sharing it with all of you!

How does your creative process work?
Well I think it starts with all the fabulous paper and products! I love my team products and I LOVE peachy Keen Stamps!! I think it also has a lot to do with ALL of you fabulous crafters...The inspiration is endless.

What is my Signature Style?
I think I have a traditional but fun style, clean, and sometimes funky :) I really love die cuts, stamps, and machine stitching!

How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I doesn't, and that's what makes this community so wonderful! I think that ALL of you inspire me with your creativity daily.

So in order to keep this fabulous hop going you are to tag some friends.  Well here's the truth... I know how busy everyone is and I know how hard it is to carve out time. So I decided to just acknowledge those that have really inspired me along the way. First, all the fabulous ladies from my past design team at Little Scrap Pieces, you are ALL so dear to me and just hold a special place in my heart. Next is my Die Cuttin Diva Gals, you are so awesome and inspire me every Tuesday, next is my Craftin Desert Divas Team, you gals ROCK. I adore you and I'm so lucky to create with all of you... Tara, you especially you're creativity and inspiration is AMAZING and next my Trendy team, okay you girls are sassy.... and I LOVE it! You're so talented and FUN... Especially you Lesley - it's my pleasure to be on your team! Finally, to all my bloggy friends that visit me, share your inspiration with me and encourage me along the way!

So if any of you have some time and feel like joining the hop, email me and I'll give you the details. I would love to hear your story :)

Thanks for sticking around and listening to me babble a bit! Karen, thank you my sweet friend I had a great time sharing!

Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes

Happy Tuesday!!

It's time for another Die Cuttin Divas Challenge. Today's challenge is Anything Goes. I know this is a fan favorite! Come join us and show off your creativity!
I have been wanting to try one of the ink splattered technique cards that are so popular right now. I LOVE the CAS look of these cards so I tried it out, and tried it out, and tried it out :) Well it is super easy.... except when you want to have the splatter only in one area.  So I quickly learned that I needed to mask off the parts that I don't want the splatter :) Oh and I used ink and a little bit of paint watered down, and here is how it turned out.
I used a large paint brush and a very thin brush. I added a GREAT die cut from Paper Trey ink and it was complete.

If you want to have some fun or let the kids have some fun.  Lay some newspaper or plastic down, cut a bunch of card bases and let the kids have a blast. Use small and large brushes for different size splatters.  Make sure they wear gloves :) My boys fingers were orange for days :)

Please pop over to Die Cuttin Divas Challenge and check out the DT and join us for the challenge! We would love to have you.

Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party - Christmas in July "Elf Tags"

Happy Monday!
Today is the Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party hosted by Tara of Craftin Desert Divas! Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly linky party and you could win fabulous prizes!! Welcome to our mid post for this weeks "Christmas in July" Challenge Linky Party. Visit Craftin Desert Divas for all the rules and to play along.
So Last week I had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit but boy did I find my Christmas mojo :) I can't wait to share these tags with you. I think the majority of my projects this Holiday will be tags... I never have enough. So here are my Elf tags.

So I started with fun tags from Lil inker designs and Echo park paper
Next I cut the boy and girl elves from Cricut Create a friend and sparkled them all up. I stamped their cut little faces with Peachy Keen stamps PK-1320. I tied the tags with some celebrations ribbon, some Totally Natural Trendy Twine and some jingle bells.

Last but not least I stamped "Happy Holidays" from the CDD stamp set Happy Celebrations

Happy Celebrations

Don't forget... if you purchased a set from CDD, please make a project and enter the challenge or join the Craftin Desert Divas Gallery and show us your creation!
Have a WONDERFUL day!
