Take time to smell the flowers!

Good Morning!
Boy, life has been super busy. Just finished up a week of Birthday's and travel. Phew...I'm tired. Just quickly before I get to my card I wanted to share the cake I made for my litttle boy's Birthday.  He doesn't like cake??? so we always buy an ice cream cake but this year I found some inspiration on where else...Pinterest and came up with this.....
Now if you wanted to hot glue the boxes of candy to the base... well... that would have been WAAAY too easy :) I wanted to lightly tape them so I could deconstruct the cake and hand out the candy in the goodie bags. So that's why you see the space in the pic, my candy kept falling :) The kids LOVED the candy cake and the ice cream sundaes :) :)

And here's the card I'm sharing today!

I just LOVE the way this card turned out.  I used some inspiration from a truly AWESOME designer Amy Kolling and HERE is the card! fabulous huh! Well, I think my Mom loved her card and her flowers, that's what we bought her this year, two rose bushes :)

Irish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi Everyone!

How was your weekend? Anything fun? We had an incredibly busy but oh so fun weekend. So I have spent the last couple weeks using all my crafty time for a different type of craft. If you noticed I didn't post very much last week or the prior week - well here's why....

My son and his friends participated in the school variety show.  They were the T-birds and sang Grease Lightning. Oh my gosh it was soooo CUTE! See that car - that was done by my oh SOOOO talented hubby - Isn't it amazing. It's cardboard!!! It looks like a real car in this photo (sorry for the bad photo, it was dark and none of us could get a good shot) So by orders of the Mr (heehee) I painstakingly painted this  - (did I mention it's 7 feet long) for days and once it met his approval he added the details that would make the hot rod come to life!  Awesome memories were made:)

Well on to my card for the day
Oh I know there is supposed to be a pot a gold at the end of the rainbow, but I couldn't resist putting this adorable Leprechaun at the end:)

Little Scrap Pieces DT Post - LOVE is in the air

Hi Everyone!

Well, LOVE is certainly in the air and it's Friday!! Hip Hip Hooray! Speaking of.... Do you have plans for Heart Day? We try to avoid the restaurants on the 14th and celebrate the weekend before :)
So it's time for my favorite part of Friday... Little Scrap Pieces "Fun Friday Challenge"! Love is in the Air challenge!

I tried something new fpr me... The background is made using glimmer mist and Lil Inker die clouds. I just placed them in a pattern that I was happy with and then used removable tape to adhere the clouds, sprayed the mist and waited for it to dry....which you know is the hardest part :) then removed the clouds and AHHHH so pleased. Pretty easy and a nice result.

Card - 4 x 4
Paper - Bazzill, American Crafts
Stamp - American Crafts (Dear Lizzy)

Red, White & Blue Centerpiece

Hi Everyone!
Have I gone too far??? Someone needs to take the burlap from me before I wallpaper my house with it :) I LOVE it!
So I set out to create some tags for the 4th of July BBQ and Beach party we have every year. I just wanted some simple tags to decorate some gift bags for the kids. Well I saw these glass containers sitting in my cabinet and thought of my burlap obsession and well my tags got attached to these and now they are the centerpieces for the 4th table. I'll just have to make more tags. Hope you like my fun centerpieces, I plan to fill them with licorice and popcorn YUM! I have a great idea for summer centerpieces using the same vases...stay tuned :)

March - Card/Desk Calendar

Hi Everyone!
Hope your week is going well. We took a day off this week and went down south to San Diego to visit my family.  We had a nice visit and my niece is just growing so fast she's already 9 months. She is so precious!
So if you remember last month I made a desk calendar you can see that post HERE. I made it by using an easel card as the base for the calendar and I really liked it so I decided to make one for every month. So this is my card/calendar for March, of course I had to use a St. Patrick's day theme and of course I'm entering it in many challenges as most of them this week are St. Patrick's Day themed or use green - well I definitely used BOTH :)

Both of these adorable cuts came from the paper doll dress up cricut cartridge.

All of the paper is from my scrap drawer (yay!!) Except the card base it's coredinations

Card/Calendar - 6"
Cricut Cartridges - PDDU & Storybook(calendar label)
Ink - Martha Stewart
Ribbon - Celebrate it & The Twinery
Machine Stitched
Stickles
Sentiment & Calendar are printed
Challenges:

Whew...that's a lot of challenges, I really encourage you to stop over at these blogs and check out all of their  inspiration!! The DT's projects are so awesome and every week it just seems to get BETTER & BETTER!!!
ENJOY your day!

Sweet Valentine

Hi Everyone!
I'm a little excited to share this with you, it's one of my favorite things to do.  I don't ever really say how much I use my gypsy to create but I use it with EVERY project. I always try to create and re-create boxes, bags, and anything else my little head can think of :)
So here is a lollipop holder - I know there are plenty of these out there but I decided to create this with a hole in the center and a slit tab bottom. It's just a little more sturdy to hold up in a back pack full of goodies;)

Here is what it looks like cut and scored.
Here it is folded (Before)

Here it is folded (After)

The stamp is from My Creative Time along with the tag.
Paper - We R memory Keepers

I'm entering this in a few of the Valentine challenges.

Christmas is love...

Hi Everyone!

Every year our church holds a women's dinner. It's so much fun, we get all dressed up and the men of our church cook, serve and (the best part) clean up. We also do a gift exchange of an ornament.  I created a pillow box for my ornament.  I created the box using the Cricut Cartridge Wrap it up and just hid the image on the box.  I really had to stretch the box so it would fit the very large ornament. Sometimes when creating boxes and bags it gets a little tricky re-sizing, but I'm happy to say that when re-sizing pillow boxes they come out perfect! I cut a cute label from the Cricut Cartridge Storybook and Stamped the sentiments from Stampin Up which I purchased from Nikki

Ever Thankful for You

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to show a card I made for the Scrappy Moms Stamps Challenge.  The challenge is a color challenge Teal & Brown. This card was simple and quick. I cut a strip of the flower paper and a strip of the vanilla adhered to top and bottom of card. I heat embossed the sentiment added glitter pen to the top of the acorn and ran the bottom through the cuttlebug.  Hope you all have a great day and I have two more projects to share this week.  Stop back by on Thursday and check out my Home Decor project!

Happy Birthday Robot Wishes - Masculine Card

Hi Everyone,

So my second masculine card is for my Godson. (I have 3 more coming) I thought I would make a robot since I've had this adorable robot paper just begging to be used. I used the Wrap it Up cartridge for the Robot and printed the sentiment on my computer. I am going to enter this card in the SCRAPPY MOMS STAMPS CHALLENGE - Use B is for Boy or Sugar and spice cartridge. Sadly, I don't have either but SMS is so nice to let everyone play along by using a similar cut.
Hope you enjoy!

Birthday Cake - Scrappy Mom Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge Simply Charmed

Hi Everyone!

It's time for Scrappy Mom Stamps terrific Tuesday challenge. This week the cartridge is Simply charmed.  If you don't have it you can use a similar cut.
I used the birthday cake cut. I used glitter on the candles, stickles on the flames, and added glossy accents to the frosting. It's very bright and colorful.  I made quite a few for birthdays throughout the year, it's a very universal card even with all the bling :)

Puppy Love! Scrappy Mom Stamps "Sweethearts" Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today has been a great day so far.  Spent the morning with my hunny, we tried a new restaurant. One from Diner, Drive-ins, and dives.  (We love guy)  It was so yummy!

Scrappy Mom Stamps is having their Terrific Tuesday Challenge. This time they want us to use Sweethearts. If you don't own this cartridge you can use a similar cut.  I used Doodlecharms.  I welded two cuts of the puppy at 4 inches and used my gypsy to find the right spot for the heart over his eye.  I then cut a heart from the George cartridge and cut a hole in it for the eye.  I cut a scalloped square using Storybook, placed the puppy on it and the puppy face lifts up and you can write the sentiment inside.

Thank you for looking!
